Poetry F - J
Fragile

Time stands still
nothing moves
nothing breathes
not a leaf turns
nor an animal calls
I stand still
allowing the silence
to permeate my skin
filling all my senses
with an illusion of harmony
A sudden flutter of activity
catches the corner of my eye
Birds flee a predator
Shattering the fragile peace

Hands

Caressed by his hands
Rough and firm
Across my skin
Warm and soft

Held by his hands
gentle and strong
Meant just for me
Joyous and loved.

Hope Blooms

All the flowers bloom
Delicate to the touch
Life so short lived
But fill this empty place
With a beauty and scent
that makes my heart
fill with much hope.

I once knew love

I once knew love

He was a work of art
Brains, humor, looks
So much to offer
This lost little girl
That inhabits me

I once knew love

He used to hold me
Closely, tenderly, warmly
Telling me it was okay
This lost little girl
Would melt in his arms

I once knew love

He has gone away
Ashes, dust, tears
Taken from the world
This lost little girl
Must go on without him

Journey

I walk towards the sun
following a little worn path
I don't know where I am going
it looked so quiet and inviting
I find a small clearing
filled with fragrant wildflowers
I believe I will rest here
as my journey may be long
I fall into a deep slumber
dreaming of what I may find.
